A reworking of the Persian tale of Scheherazade and A Thousand and One Nights, this story tells of Shahrzad's quest to make the caliph pay for the death of her good friend. But things don't go exactly as planned. Even though she was sure she was in love with Tariq, her childhood best friend, she finds herself falling for her husband. But Tariq has other plans and is raising an army to rescue her.Shahrzad becomes determined to learn the reason for her husband, Khalid's, brutality and the murders of all the brides before her. Then, she must figure out how to change things.
The sequel, The Rose and the Dagger, will be released May 2016.
